Glad to see this great institution continues! I came with a number of band mates from Fairview Middle School in Camden, Arkansas. I had a great time the two years I attended ('78 & '79) and stayed in touch with a few people I met there for many years. I played tenor sax at band camp, added several more instruments since, and have remained a semi-pro musician to this day. Thank you, Dixie Band Camp, for the training and the memories!

I'm glad to see Dixie is still going strong! I attended camp in 96-98 I believe. I played clarinet, and I always bought the VHS tapes of my performances. It was a great experience.

I attended Dixie Band camp from 1992-1996. I played flute for Wonder Junior High and West Memphis Senior High. Dixie Band Camp created lifelong memories for me, as I anticipated my summers each year. My son Christopher Blakely attended summer 2012 for the first time and will be in attendance this summer as well. He plays baritone and attends Wonder Junior High also. Even though he was one of the only couple students to attend from Wonder last year, he never once felt alone, as he made friends quickly and always was involved in the camp activities. This year several band students from Wonder plan to attend. Hopefully this number will grow each year. Dixie Band Camp has made an awesome impact on both of our lives! Continue the great work!!

I attended DBC way back between 1957-1960, serving as a captain in 1960. I played trumpet with Chris Witherspoon, Moody Whitehead and Buddy Hankins. The director of the top band (Blue) was Scrubby Watson. The camp was in Monticello at Arkansas A&M, except in 1960 it was in Russellville at Arkansas Tech because of dorm remodling at A&M. In 1965 I was an instructor at the camp. I doubt there are many out there who go that far back.

I had such a great at band camp in 2012, it was simply magnifisent and I made tons of friends! I can not wait to go back again. The staff and captains were super nice, helpful, and supportive. It was like my second home for the summer!!
